Kalani Jensen

Born 1959 and raised in the Venice/Mar Vista area of Los Angeles, Kalani graduated from Venice High School in 1976.  He graduated from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in 1983 earning the five-year degree, Bachelor of Architecture.  He received his Architectural license in 1989 and practiced with a firm in West Los Angeles until 2003 rising from the position of Job Captain to senior Partner. In 2003 he left that firm to establish his own company, Kalani Jensen Architecture, located in Malibu.

He met his wife, Natalie, while attending Santa Monica College and has been happily married since 1984. They’ve been blessed with two daughters, who have given them, so far, three grandsons.

With the kids leaving the house, he was searching for a new opportunity for growth and to give back to the community.  Luckily he discovered Masonry.  He was initiated in Southern California Lodge 529 in March of 2009, and raised in October of that same year. He received the Hiram Award in 2013 and served as Master of that lodge in 2016.

He has served as President of the Sahara Patrol in 2012, and made Commandant of Units in 2013, during Dave Chernik’s year as Potentate, and in 2014 served again for the 116th Potentate, Fred Bernhardt. He also served as Marshal in 2015.

In 2017 Kalani was appointed to the post of Second Ceremonial Master by Illustrious Mike Metzler.  During his time on the divan, he has served on and chaired several committees including the formation of the first all unit POV, Toy Rides, and the Open House / Harold Awards and hie favorite the Luau committee, as well as many others. In 2018 Kalani was appointed to the Shriners for Children Medical Center Board of Governors, and now serves as Vice Chairman.

Kalani has found his association with this organization to be both challenging and rewarding and looks forward to the next opportunity.  He says he is am honored to be able to have this chance to serve this fraternity.
